Santa Cruz de Tenerife: Bibliobus.

En esta ocasión hablaremos del bibliobus, una biblioteca itinerante que llamará la atención a cualquier usuario. Nace como un proyecto con el objetivo de fomentar la lectura y hacerla llegar a cualquier rincon de la capital. Lleva 25 años en activo, dato que seguramente sorprenderá, pero lo cierto es que ha tenido exito en la gente aficionada a la lectura. De hecho cuenta con un fondo de más de 15.000 libros. En la actualidad, han utilizado los servicios de esta peculiar guagua, más de 125.000 lectores.

El Bibliobús es un servicio público y gratuito de préstamo de libros. Se requiere poseer la tarjeta de préstamo, que se entrega en el mismo Bibliobús. Es necesario la presentación del carné de identidad; los menores presentarán el de su padre, madre o tutor. En cada visita, el lector podrá retirar un máximo de tres libros, que deberá reintegran en la próxima visita que el Bibliobús haga a su zona; para ello se le facilita la fecha de devolución junto a un número de teléfono que le servirá para cualquier información que necesite y para realizar las reservas de libros que crea oportuno.

Santa Cruz de Tenerife: Recinto ferial.

Al igual que sucede con el Auditorio de Tenerife, el recinto ferial se erige como un importante icono de la ciudad capitalina. Ambos comparten creador; Santiago Calatrava además de similar importancia en el ámbito turístico en Tenerife.

El Centro Internacional de Ferias y Congresos de Tenerife se sitúa estratégicamente en la nueva zona de expansión de la capital. Entre edificios tan importantes y emblemáticos como el Palacio de Justicia, el Palmétum y el nuevo Auditorio. Del edificio destaca la cubierta, articulada a base de grandes vigas de hormigón. Fue inaugurado en mayo de 1996, el Centro ocupa una superficie superior a los 40.000 metros cuadrados y en su interior conviven tres grandes espacios útiles que lo convierten en el lugar idóneo para celebrar todo tipo de encuentros, ferias, exposiciones, conciertos y cualquier evento que requiera grandes espacios para su realización, al contar con un aforo de 20.000 personas.

Este edificio consta de tres partes principales que conforman su estructura;

1. Gran Nave.
2. Edificio Zócalo.
3. Edificio Anexo.

Gran Nave

• Situada en la parte alta del edificio principal del Recinto. Su armonioso diseño de cristal, hierro y hormigón, permite la celebración de ferias comerciales y grandes eventos deportivos y musicales. Este espacio cubierto, el mayor de Canarias, con 12.000 metros cuadrados diáfanos (sin pilares, tabiques o paredes) es, además, una de las mayores salas de estas características de toda Europa, con un aforo máximo de 15.000 personas.

Edificio Zócalo

• Es una superficie, construida a nivel del suelo, en forma curva que mide 3.800 metros cuadrados y tiene un salón de actos con aforo para 334 personas y varias salas de inferior capacidad. Esta instalación permite un uso diverso: ferial, espectáculos, musicales, exposiciones, congresos, convenciones, cócteles, etc.

Edificio Anexo

• Situado en el costado norte de la Gran Nave, con una conexión que se realiza a través de un enorme arco interior, de 50 metros de longitud. La fachada es de forma triangular y de piedra natural.

La biblioteca pública Jose Saramago es otra de las bibliotecas municipales que divulga la página. Seguramente debido a su concepción de ente municipal, no parece recibir mucha atención por parte de la web.
